About the Maker:
Crown Devon Fielding’s was established in the late 19th century and quickly became one of Stoke-on-Trent’s most respected potteries, producing high-quality earthenware and porcelain admired for its vibrant decoration and impeccable craftsmanship.

Dating the Set:
The underside bears the distinctive Crown Devon Fielding’s backstamp with the company crown emblem and the words STOKE ON TRENT ENGLAND THAMES, along with the Registered Design Number 658051. This number was officially recorded in 1916–1917, placing production of this set in the late 1910s to early 1920s. This dating is consistent with both the mark style and the ornate Edwardian to Art Deco transitional decoration.

An outstanding survivor of over a century, the set remains in excellent condition. The colours are bright and unfaded, the gilding crisp with minimal wear, and there are no cracks, chips, or restorations, a rare find in such well-preserved state.

Whether displayed as a centrepiece or added to a fine collection of British ceramics, this Crown Devon “Thames” trio captures the elegance and craftsmanship of the early 20th century.
