A Victorian stoneware vase dating to the second half of the 19th century (around 1870-80), featuring a delicate fine crackle glaze throughout. The body presents a hand-painted ground in soft cream and olive tones, centered with a transfer-printed medallion depicting a classical scene after Angelica Kauffmann. The vase’s neoclassical form is enhanced by scroll handles, a fluted foot, and a deep green glazed rim, all characteristic of the refined aesthetic of the late Victorian era.
The piece is marked “Angelica Kauffman”, referencing the celebrated 18th century artist whose works inspired the central decoration. A graceful example of 19th century decorative stoneware, blending artistry, craftsmanship, and period charm.
